Associate , Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Simon is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with 12 years industry experience. This experience has been gained working on mining and civil infrastructure projects throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. His experience covers a wide variety of fields, including civil design and construction, geotechnical site investigations, foundation engineering, slope stability, landslide remediation, erosion and sediment control, acid sulfate soils, numerical modelling, effluent disposal, and earthworks.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Core Consultants, Simon is responsible for project management and coordination of duties related to geotechnical engineering works associated with various residential, commercial, land development, mining, oil and gas, and civil infrastructure sectors.

From 2005 to 2015, Simon held civil and geotechnical engineering roles at Golder Associates, Coffey International and the Department of Main Roads. During this time, he was involved with and managed projects in a range of geographical locations, often with challenging logistical issues and complex geological settings.

Simon prides himself on building and maintaining strong client relationships by being responsive, easy to do business with, and providing practical solutions to complex problems.

Simon has a keen interest in extreme sports and loves to travel to exotic destinations surfing and snowboarding.

He lives on the Sunshine Coast with his young family. On weekends he spends his time surfing, boating and golfing.
