Michael Deacon

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Michael is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer responsible for providing geotechnical services, technical review, project delivery and business development. A resident on the Gold Coast for the last 40 years, Michael has over 17 years experience working on geotechnical projects throughout Queensland generally, and specifically the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales.

Selected areas of his experience include investigation and geotechnical design of slope remediation options and deep excavations; slope stability risk assessments; retaining walls and anchoring systems; deep foundations; settlement of soft soils; site classification of foundation soil reactivity and acid sulfate soils. His experience covers industrial, commercial, high rise residential towers and residential subdivision investigations.

Michael leads the Core Geotechnical Team on the Gold Coast servicing clients south of Brisbane and in northern New South Wales. In his spare time, Michael enjoys camping, outdoors and all water sports. Weekends are spent with his wife, four sons and various sporting events.
